Obituary
With heavy hearts, the family of Bernice Vaughan announces her peaceful passing, which occurred at the Carleton Kirk Lodge on January 2nd, 2022. Born in Saint John on April 23, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Ellen (Stone) Snow, and the loving wife of the late Ronald Vaughan. During her working years, she worked as a cashier at the Golden Mile Co-Op store and was a member of the RCL Branch #69. Surviving is her daughter, Elizabeth Melvin, daughter-in-law Patty Vaughan, sister-in-law Nancy Ketchum, grandchildren Christa, Becky, Cara, and Jeffrey; great-grandchildren Ethan, Landen, Caleb, Denver, and Chloe, nieces Sandra Messer (Gordon), Brenda Sleep (Bill), Judi Marshall (Walter), and Barbara Nesbitt; nephews John Watson (Sylvia), Tink Watson (Sandra), Larry Watson (Nancy), and Harold Snow (Lynda), along with her fur babies Callie and Tyson.
Along with her parents, and her husband, Bernice was pre-deceased by her son Brian Vaughan, brothers Gordon (Jean) and Harold Snow (Laurie), sister Lillian Watson (Bill), grandson Rob Melvin, and son-in-law Brian Melvin.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service, and a family graveside service will be held at Fernhill Cemetery on Friday, January 7th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice, or a charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fundy Funeral Home, 230 Westmorland Road, Saint John (646-2424).
