It is with heavy hearts that we announce Mom’s passing on March 13th at the Kootenay Lake Hospital with her two sons and sister by her side.
Bonnie will be fondly remembered as an amazing mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many and for bringing goodies to all her neighbours at the Kiwanis Villa. One of her favourite past times was to sit and talk to all the dogs that passed by her place; she could always tell you the dogs name, but rarely the owners.
However, it is as an artist that Mom will likely be remembered best; she spent hours lovingly handcrafting every Birthday and Christmas card for her friends and family.
Bonnie is survived by her sons, Greg and Bryan, daughters-in-law, Tanya and Cheri, grandchildren, Alem, Tarikua, Kami and Kaira, her brother Bob (Sharon) Baker, sister Della (Rod) Arnold and brother-in-law, Ken. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 41-years, Norm, her parents Robert (Bob) and Anne Baker, and brothers, Billy Baker and Alan DeYaeger.
The family would like to thank the amazing nursing team on the third floor of the Kootenay Lake Hospital, especially Jessica, Patti and Michelle and Doctors Tuval and McBride.
A Celebration of Life will be held in late May so that all of Mom’s family and friends can attend. If you have stories that you would like to share about your friendship with Mom or would like more information about her Celebration of Life, please email Greg at rcnavy@yahoo.com
In lieu of cards or flowers, the family asks you to consider a donation to the Kootenay Lake Hospital Foundation in memory of Mom.
