Obituary
SLOAT – Beatrice Marguerite passed away peacefully at Portal Village on Friday February 25, 2022, at the age of 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Alfred. Loving Mom of David Sloat, Debbie Smyth (the late Rick) and the late Sandra Sloat. Dear Grandma of Shawn Smyth (Laura) and the late Brandy Sloat. She will be lovingly remembered by her brother David Parkes (Lynette). She was predeceased by her brothers Phillip (the late Ellen), Harold (the late Muriel), Kenny (the late Catherine) and her sister Phyllis (the late Roy) Caton. Beatrice was a proud WWII veteran. She loved quilting and sewing but her true passion was crochet. She loved to gift her handmade Afghans with those she cared about. She enjoyed baking and sharing her goods with all her friends and family. The Sloat family wish to extend heartfelt thanks to the entire the PSWs, Dr. Emily Wilson and the entire staff of Portal Village. Your love and care for Mom was truly appreciated. At her request cremation has taken place. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence St., Port Colborne. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
