August 16, 1940 – August 24, 2022
Peacefully at his home on August 24, 2022 at the age of 82. Predeceased by his mother Jean Thachuk, grandmother Annie Thachuk, and Grandfather Nicholas Thachuk. Missed by his Cousins Joan Hughes (Len) and Bill Myers (Margo). Remembered by his housemates and the staff of Hansen House.
Barry was a proud contributor to the book And Neither Have I Wings To Fly, written by Thelma Wheatley, and of his role in helping bring justice to many fellow victims of institutionalization.
Grave side service to be held on Thursday September 1st, 2022 at 3:00pm at Glendale Cemetery, Etobicoke.
A tree will be planted in memory of Barry in the Dods & McNair Memorial Forest at the Island Lake Conservation Area, Orangeville. 20th Annual Dedication Service will be held on Sunday, September 10, 2023 at 2:00 p.m.
