Barrie was always quick with a joke and a laugh. He loved
reading and working on crossword puzzles. He was always fascinated by
new gadgets and new technology and he was the first on his street to
own a colour television. In his spare time he enjoyed fettling with
things, managing to repair them on occasion. He was always good with
his hands and could build almost anything out of wood, over the years
he collected many different tools. He was often seen in his later
years, in his favourite chair, with a cat or dog on his knee and
several other dogs and cats surrounding him. The menagerie would often
follow him whenever he went outside to smoke his ever present
pipe. Barrie joined the Pubnico Lions Club soon
after moving to Nova Scotia in 2008. He made many a good friend during
his time here.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved
him.
Many thanks to the staff of The Meadows Long Term Care home
in Yarmouth Nova Scotia.
