Barbara Ann Brown (Aka Barb) 74 of Kamloops B.C Passed away May 21st, 2022 at the Royal Inland Hospital after having complications from a heart attack. Born February 2, 1948, in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Barb was the Second eldest daughter of Parents George and Mary (Amero) Landry.
Barb led a very simple yet fulfilling life with her Beloved Husband Colin Sr. and family by her side. Barbara touched the hearts of everyone who she met along her journey of life with her funny sense of humour, the different language of words she made up along the way, she continuously would laugh at her own silly ways, joke around and enjoyed life in the most simplistic way possible. She enjoyed reading, walking, doing puzzles, knitting, crocheting, and most of all her family. Barbara over the years was a Hardworking lady. Barb’s working careers consisted of in her early days as a Nanny, and a labourer at Clairtone in Stellarton NS where she met her Soul mate/ Husband Colin Sr. Moving to North Vancouver B.C roughly in 1968/1969 with her husband shortly after they wed in 1968, they then started a family, and she became a stay-at-home mother until her children where in their teens. Moving back to New Brunswick in 1980, Barb started working a short while at Eva’s Place restaurant, before becoming a chambermaid at Marshlands Inn, Sackville NB. In 1994 Barb and Colin sold their home and moved back to B.C where she worked at the Ramada in Prince George B.C for 10 years. After her Husband retired, they moved to Cache creek B.C and she worked at the sandman hotel for a short while and eventually retired and lived in Cache creek B.C until her beloved soul mate of 50 years fell ill, she then moved to Kamloops to be closer to her husband before he passed.
Barbara is Survived by her Son Kevin ( April Bell) Brown of Sackville NB , 2 Granddaughters Kayla Weir of Moncton Nb and Emma Brown of River Herbert Ns, Daughter Shannon (Troy)Mills of Prince George B.C, Granddaughter Madison Mills of Oxford/Amherst NS, and Grandson Zander Mills of Prince George B.C, Step- son Colin (Shelley Duncan)Brown Jr. of Dorchester NB, Step-daughter Lisa Brown of Baie Verte N.B/Moncton N.B area and several step- grandchildren and great- step grandchildren, Sisters Shirley Galarneau of Darthmouth N.S, Dorothy (Donnie) Campbell of Westville NS , and Elizabeth “Libby” (Roy ) Jenkins of Sylvester N.S and many Nieces and Nephews.
Besides her Parents, Barb was Predeceased by her long-time beloved husband of 50 yrs. Colin Brown Sr, Her Only Brother Robert Landry, Sister in Infancy Marie Janet Landry, Step-son Michael Brown, step Grandson Ryan.
The Family would like to thank all the Ambulance attendants, Doctors and Nurses who provided care at the Royal Inland Hospital during Barbara’s stay. An extra Special Thank you to Drake Cremation for their compassion and care during this time of sorrow. Cremation has taken place and there will be no service at this time but a possible celebration of life later. if anyone would like to donate on Barbara’s behalf, donations can be made to either the Diabetes foundation or Heart and stroke foundation by choice.
