Arlene Kay Downie 1954 2022

Obituary of Arlene Kay Downie
Arlene passed away at the East Kootenay Regional Hospital, in Cranbrook after a battle with cancer on the morning of January 9, 2022.
Arlene was born in Kimberley, B.C., where she grew up surrounded by family and friends. Her love of music brought so much joy and travel into her life. Arlene and Rod were always on the move to another music adventure. Her fantastic taste in music flowed to the friends she surrounded herself with. She brought an ease and warmth to all she touched. Arlene had a glamourous style, and thus lovingly lead to her name “Glamma” by her four cherished grandchildren. Arlene loved to cook for her grandchildren and the family get togethers. The joy could be seen in the sparkle in her eyes when her family was around her.
She will be forever in our hearts.
Arlene is survived by her husband Rod, sons Kyle (Alicia), Dylan (Jo), and her grandchildren Jayden, Avery, Kiya and August, niece Bobby (Bob) and brother-in-law Chris Sorensen, many other nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her sister Diane, and brothers Bob and Jim.
A Private Memorial Service will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 2:00pm by invite only. To take part in the service please join via live streaming. Go onto Arlene’s obituary page on the McPherson Website and click on the tab LIVE STREAMING OF SERVICE.
