1943-2022
Archibald Douglas “Archie” Lee, age 79, of Lower
Sackville, formerly of New Glasgow, passed away Monday, May 30, 2022,
in the Aberdeen Hospital. Born in New Glasgow, he was a son of the
late Cecil Ray and Amelia Jane (Paris) Lee. He was retired from the
Department of National Defense. He was a Jehovah Witness, attending
Kingdom Hall in Lower Sackville. Archie was a former professional
boxer and was inducted into the Pictou County Sports Heritage Hall of
Fame. He was the last surviving member of his family. He is survived
by a son, Cory Lee, Toronto; step-daughters: Patricia MacGurt,
Halifax; Lori Foster, Halifax; niece, Charlene (Bob) Smith, New
Glasgow; nephew, Dana (Kelly) Lee, Stellarton; numerous other nieces
and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Rosalie Foster; sisters:
Dorothy, Millie, Bessie and Sharon; brothers: Rob, Bill, Albert,
Clarence and Alex; nephews, Peter and Lowell; niece, Marion.
Visitation 12-12:45pm Friday, followed by service at 1pm Friday, in
the R.H. Porter Funeral Home, 55 Almont Ave., New Glasgow.
The service will be livestreamed, link
below. Masks recommended for those attending. Burial to
follow in Lorne Street Cemetery. Donations in his memory may be made
to Palliative Care Unit c/o Aberdeen Health
Foundation.
