At Juravinski Hospital, Hamilton on Monday, January 17, 2022, Tony Cisternino passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of Lucia Cisternino (Inverso) for 58 years. Loving dad of Filomena D’Amico (Frank) and Joanne DeMois-Ellis (Gary). Cherished Nonno of Justin, Alicia, Emily (Calvin), Hannah, Aunika (Adam) and Bisnonno of Gracelyn and Jackson. Beloved son of the late Giovanni and Filomena and son-in-law of the late Vito and Giovanna. Dear brother of Concetta (late Michele), Josephine (late Matteo), late Matteo (late Maria), Michele (Maria) and brother-in-law of Angela (late Leonardo), Joe (Marie), Nardino (Raffaela), Domenico, Paola, Michele (late Heika) and Rosa (Donato). Tony is survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada, Italy and Germany.
Tony came to Canada in 1962 and settled in Hamilton. He is a retired specialty welder with National Steel Car. Loving the outdoors, he enjoyed fishing and hunting but gardening and raising small farm animals was his true passion. Tony was a renaissance man who was talented at everything… the man with the “golden hands.” Tony was a gentle soul, patient, kind and full of love and had a great sense of humour. If you had a problem, Tony created the solution.
