Obituary
Antonio passed away May 23rd , 2022, at the age of 78 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s, surrounded by loved ones who will strive to honor his memory by living their lives to the fullest. Antonio was born on May 5, 1944 in Toritto, Italy to the parents of Domenico and Grace Caputi. At just
20 years young, he immigrated to Canada in 1966 with big dreams and great hopes for a better life. Prior to leaving for his journey, he studied to become a welder/fitter in Milan and was later hired to work in Montreal. After spending over 2 long years working in Montreal and Oakville he travelled back to Italy on January 31, 1970 to marry his childhood love, Pasqua Cea Caputi. Together, they created a family and had two children named after their parents, Joseph and Dominic. Antonio truly loved his family and dedicated his time and efforts to create a better future for them. Antonio also dedicated his time working with the Italo Canadian Torittese Club, where he proudly served as a founding member and President for over 10 years. Antonio was very proud of his Italian heritage, he donated his spare time enriching the local Italian community through charities and fundraisers.. He had a passion for soccer, hockey, music,wine, food and his loyal dog, Dusty. Antonio is survived by his loving wife, Pasqua, his two sons, Dominic and Joseph, and many grandchildren, Anthony, Katelyn, Manual, Jaxon and Auston. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 26, 2022 at the Kopriva Taylor Community Funeral Home, 64 Lakeshore Road West, Oakville (one block East of Kerr Street) from 4 pm – 8 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday May 27, 2022 at St. James Roman Catholic Church, 231 Morden Road, Oakville at 11 am. Entombment to follow at Glen Oaks Memorial Gardens.
