Obituary of Anthony McMeekin
McMEEKIN, Anthony of Port Dover, it is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of their beloved Anthony. He passed away Tuesday morning, June 28, 2022, at his home in his 72 year, surrounded by the love of his family. Cherished husband of Jacquie. Dearly loved father of Riley and Tammy McMeekin of Alliston, Erin McMeekin and John Waldie of Orangeville, Michael Luke and Gabby Monkman of Port Dover, Matthew and Brooke Luke of Lynden and Melanie Luke and Gregg James of Port Dover. Loving grandfather of Maxim, Marshall, Brayden, Willow, Seryn, Gryffin and Makenna. Dear brother-in-law of Maureen McMeekin of Burlington and her children , Kait and Jaemin, Jamie and Dan’, Adrian and Marilyn Crone of Ottawa and Yvonna and David Armstrong of Smith Falls. Predeceased by his parents Sam and Edna and his brother Ewing (2016). Anthony will be sadly missed by his many, close friends and former co-workers. He was a long time Air Canada employee. Anthony loved to cook whether it was for a crowd or for Jacquie, he considered cooking his way of showing his love. Gathering of many friends and family every July 1st at the corner of Greenock & Main St which was always concluded by the annual cookout competition between him and his brother Ewing. He was an athlete in training, honing his skills on the golf course with Dover Duffers, Slow Pitch Baseball and Darts at the Legion. Anthony was diligent at perfecting his games. On Monday night Anthony and Jacquie committed their love to each other in a Service of Love performed at their house. Friends are invited to share their memories of Anthony at visitation on Saturday, July 2, 2022 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Thompson Waters Funeral Home, 102 First Ave., Port Dover 519-583-1530. A Funeral Service to celebrate Anthony’s life will be held on Sunday, July 3, 2022 at 2 pm at Thompson Waters Funeral Home Chapel. The service will be live streamed at funeraweb.tv/diffusions/56420. Officiated by Peggy Guiler. Cremation to follow. For those wishing, donations to the Mark Preece Family House, the Who Did It Club or Stedman Community Hospice Outreach Team would be greatly appreciated by the family.
