Obituary
(Tony) Anthony James Joseph Smyth, of Georgetown, ON, just shy of his 87th birthday, having struggled with a stroke and Alzheimer’s, peacefully passed away on November 16th, 2022, in the Complex Transitional Care Unit, Georgetown Hospital with his loving wife (marie Thérèse Rush-Smyth, nee Boissonneault) by his side. He leaves behind his treasured grandchildren: Jasper & Violet; his second family: Matthew & Lauren; Stephen & Frida; and his lost daughters Cathy & Sandy.
Georgetown benefitted from Tony’s dedication to charitable work. The Knights of Columbus and Pro-Life Issues were his passions, along with dancing, loving children, and his devotion to Our Lord.
Friends will be received at the Jones Funeral Home, 11582 Trafalgar Road, Georgetown on Sunday, November 20th from 2 – 4 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 14400 Argyll Road, Georgetown on Monday, November 21st at 10:00 a.m. with Father David Walter and Père Fulbert Jonas AHOUANSOU of Paroisse Sacré Coeur officiating. Reception to follow in the Holy Cross Parish Hall. Memorial donations may be made to the Knights of Columbus or Halton Pro-Life, Inc.; Holy Cross Parish or Paroisse Sacré Coeur. His wife wishes to extend her gratitude to the Georgetown Hospital and in particular to the Complex Transitional Care Unit for their compassion and care of her soulmate.
