Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the love of our life’s Anthony (Tony) Angel (Age 62). Passed peacefully away at the palliative care unit after fighting a 3-year battel with cancer. Surrounded by his loving family and close friends.
Pre deceased by his father Gearld Angel, Mother Marie Angel (Williams), Father-in-law Percy Vere-Holloway, Mother-in-law Elizabeth Vere-Holloway (Miller). Also, special friend Kathleen Williams.
Leaving to mourn with beautiful memories his loving wife Denise of 36 years, his princess Natasha (Matthew), best buddies Noah & Luke his grandsons who he adored. Sister Rose (Vince), Nieces Amanda & Melinda, Brother Gerry (Susan), Niece Shannon. Sisters-in-law Roscyln (Austin), Janice (Paul), Sharron, Michelle (Billy), Judy (Lorne), Lori (Kenny). Brothers-in-law Wayne (Judy), Jimmy (Judy), Raymond (Genny), Danny (Amanda), Ronnie and their families. Life long friends Gladys and Gerry Dalton. His best gym buddy Tommy and Lynn Anna Hollett. Philip Squires, his right-hand man, and all of his friends and Bally Haly Curling Club.
Tony was an avid biker he loved his Harley Davidson and going on rides with his biking friends. He worked at making curling ice for the last 34 years he loved his job and had so much passion for the curling community. In Tony’s younger years he was into the sport of bodybuilding which he won Mr. Newfoundland 86, 87, 88; later he picked back up the sport / gym and competed again at the age of 58 and won in his division.
We want to send out a special shout out to Garry Dalton who was always there through out Tony’s life especially the last 3 years of his cancer battle. To Tommy Hollett thank you for everything you have done for Tony and family. To our kind neighbours Andy and Nichole Kenny thank you for everything you do for us.
A heartful thank you to the Cancer Clinic, the palliative care staff, especially Dr. Renee Lester who Tony always said was a guardian angel who kept him alive. Dr Oliver Holmes for his special care he given; the team of doctors Tony saw on his journey; Dr. Ashley Paul, Dr. Angela Hyde, Dr. Erin Powell, Dr. Kara Laing, Dr. Karen Downtown, pharmacist Nadine and public health nurse, Kelly Collins. Special thank you to Tony’s family Dr. Mercedes Penton and her staff, your kindness will never go unnoticed.

Funeral Service will take place from Barrett’s Memorial Chapel, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, August 24th, 2022 at 11:00am, with an internment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. To leave a message of condolence please visit www.barretts.ca.
