ALBANO, Anthony Gary “Ponch” passed away surrounded by the love of his family, on Saturday, June 18th, 2022 at 92 years of age. Ponch will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 49 years, Frances; son, Tony (Jackie) Albano of Regina SK and their children Cooper and Emily; daughter, Carol Wylie of Hamilton, ON and her daughter Shawna; son, Anthony Jr of Welland, ON; sister Eleanor Damore and family, brother Frank (Patricia) and family; and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ponch was a long-suffering but faithful Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He enjoyed softball, pitching horseshoes and entertaining family and friends with barbeques, and holiday parties. Ponch had a long and successful working career but was most proud of his achievments as Safety Director for the Port Colborne Quarries. He was also a proud member of the Canadian Society of safety Engineering.
The family will receive their friends at the H. L. Cudney Funeral Home, 241 West Main Street, Welland on Wednesday, June22nd from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, June 23rd, at 10 a.m. Interment to follow in Woodlawn Cemetery.
