Anthony Harvey McCormick, 81
1941-2022
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Harvey on December 28th at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital (Palliative Care Unit), surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Bridgeport Harvey was the youngest child of the late Anthony and Josephine McCormick. Being self employed and sole owner operator of Bridgeport Holdings Ltd. kept Harvey busy with his Backhoe. Often doing work for Maritime Tel & Tel trenching underground telephone lines.
Harvey is survived by his wife of 43 years and best friend Linda (MacIntyre) and their three sons: Daniel (Meghan), Kevin, and Dennis (Brittney Dawson), sister-in-law Coleen McCormick, Dartmouth, also missing their Poppy are three precious grandsons to Tripp, Jace and Gibson McCormick.
Survived by sisters Rita Reynolds and Theresa Campbell, Boston, Mass,and brother in law Charles Costello, New York, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents he was predeceased by his siblings Mae, Shirley, Connie, brother Roddie and three brothers in infancy.
A sincere thank you to the nurses and staff on the Palliative Care Unit that made our time over the holidays and last days with Harvey peaceful and homelike. Harvey’s family would like to thank the staff of Harbourstone Enhanced Care (Irish Cove Unit) for all their care while Harvey was there.
In keeping with Harvey’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Monday, January 2nd, 2023 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Sydney Memorial Chapel, 49 Welton Street, Sydney Nova Scotia. Funeral service will take place at 2 pm in the chapel with Mr. Gary Grant officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Harvey may be made to the Horizon Achievement Centre, Parkinson’s Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Society.
