Obituary of Ann Marie Racki, New Waterford
It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden death of Ann Marie Racki (MacKinnon) at her home in New Waterford on July 7, 2022 at the age of 69.
Ann Marie was the daughter of the late Michael and Mary MacKinnon. She was a pillar to her family and often referred to as “Mama Bear”. Ann Marie was always known to have a huge heart and to help out anyone she could.
Ann Marie leaves behind a large family of not only her own children but the children of many friends and family members. Mother to Loni Racki McCarthy (Rob), Christina (Chrissie) DeGiobbi (deceased) (Anthony) and Michael Craig Racki; grandmother to Jesse, Tyler, Dante, Cole and Hannah DeGiobbi, Evan and Audrey McCarthy; sister to Michael (deceased), Bernie (Jeanette), Roddie (Gail) MacKinnon; aunt to Michelle, Bobby, Gary, Cheryl, Amanda and Sean; many close friends, many “like my own” daughters and sons. Ann Marie loved large and the list is long of people’s lives she touched.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 14, 2022 all in V.J. McGillivray Funeral Home Chapel, 380 Smith Street, New Waterford. Donations in her memory may be made to the Cape Breton Shelter – Nova Scotia S.P.C.A.
