Born in Fulmer, (near Gerrard’s Cross) UK, Anne was the daughter of Helen (“Bunty”) Pawsey (née Caine) and Spencer Pawsey. She was predeceased by her parents in 2005 and 2001 respectively. Anne is survived by her husband, Jim Williams, son Cameron Williams (Sue) and their children Keaton and Leila; by her daughter Jessica Williams and her children Blake and Bennett; and by her brother, Tim Pawsey (Heather).
As a young woman she studied at the West of England College of Art in Bristol before immigrating to Canada, designing clothing first for White Stag in Edmonton, and subsequently for Jantzen in Vancouver. In later years she presided with her parents at their Island Gallery antique shop in Oak Bay. Anne—always impeccably dressed!—had a natural flair for fashion and interior design, and was a respected rose judge in competitions throughout Greater Victoria and the Gulf Islands.
Anne also loved to travel, relishing her trips to Australia and the U.K. but especially to her very favourite, Maui. Anne’s truest passions, however, were her family, her garden and her many treasured friends
Anne was diagnosed with Glioblastoma 20 months ago. During this time, a life of memories was shared with those who meant the most. Deep love, laughs and tears. Nothing left unsaid. A life lived in full bloom. Missed enormously already.
The family wishes to thank Drs. Elrick and McIvor and the staff at Saanich Peninsula Hospital Palliative Care Unit, and Leanne Houston and her team at Island Health.
A celebration of Anne’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the BC Cancer Foundation, Victoria.
