Obituary of Ann Drenth
Drenth, Ann passed peacefully with her family by her side at St. Thomas Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of 64 years to Chris Drenth. Dear mother of Christey-Ann Veldman(Ed) of Lethbridge, Gwen Drenth(Scott Johnson) of Cambridge and Julia Smit of Cambridge. Loving grandmother of Melissa, Janelle(Jordan), Michael(Kristi), Scott(Ashley), Kurtis(Michelle), Dylan(Dakota), Matthew and great-grandmother of Naomi, Caleb, Liam and Sarah. Sister of Gay Roskamp, Nancy Friend, John Friend(Karen) and sister-in-law of Lydia and Joyce. She will be missed by her cousins, the Mantel family. Predeceased by brothers Nick, Jan, Clarence and Gerald. Born in Andijk, The Netherlands on June 3, 1937, daughter of the late Klaas and Pauline (Waagenaar) Friend. Ann began her teaching career in Hamilton and later spent over 30 years teaching at Immanuel Christian School upon coming to Aylmer in 1956. Ann was a devoted member of the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church and in her retirement enjoyed knitting, crocheting and spending time at their trailer at Lakewood Campground. Ann helped make milk bag mats, knit hundreds of vests to give to those in need and volunteered countless hours at the Mission Thrift Store in St. Thomas. She had a heart for helping others. Visitation at the H.A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Friday 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the Aylmer Christian Reformed Church on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment, Aylmer Cemetery.
