Anna Marie Dougherty 1927 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anna Marie (Cooper) Dougherty on August 16, 2022, at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital. She was born in Windsor, ON, on April 14, 1927, to the late Roger and Frances (Coleman) Cooper.
For many years, Anna Marie worked as a library assistant at the Harriet Irving Library at UNB, retiring at the age of 65. She was a faithful member of St. Paul’s United Church, as well as the UCW. She was also active in the Y’s Menettes, and volunteered on Sundays for many years at the York Care Centre. She loved to travel, regardless of whether it was a short drive or a trip to another country. We remember her as being strong and vibrant, as well as kind and giving. She instilled moral character and strength in all of us.
She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Dianna Arnold of Fredericton, Patricia “Patti” Macdonald (David) of Dartmouth, NS, and Mary Davis (Mike) of Fredericton; grandchildren, Ashley Arnold (Julio Alegre), Heather Macdonald (Todd Fleury), James Macdonald (Tara Harnish), Haley Macdonald (Scott Ogrins), Emily Davis and Robyn Davis; great grandchildren Avery and Winnie; sister-in-law, June Cooper of Massachusetts, several nieces and nephews residing in the USA, as well as friends and neighbours.
In addition to her parents, Anna Marie was predeceased by her husband, Gordon Dougherty; daughter, Erin Dougherty, and brother Frank Cooper.
By request, there will be no formal services. A Celebration of Life to honour and remember Anna Marie will be held in early October. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Anna
