Obituary
After a long struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease, Ann passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022 at Bow View Manor Nursing Home.
Born in Ireland, Ann (nee Scully) finished school, moved to London, England, and trained to be a nurse at Paddington Hospital. She then travelled back to Ireland and worked in several hospitals where she was a competent and pleasant nurse. Next, she travelled to Australia where she met Jerry. They got engaged and came to Calgary and were married and a family soon followed.
Ann was a kind and loving friend and mother who always cared about the needy. She was a devout Catholic who lived a truly Christian life. Ann enjoyed volunteering with the church, especially pastoral care. She and Jerry were also captains for the Mt. St. Francis Retreat House for many years, a task she loved.
She leaves to mourn her best friend and husband Jerry; her children, Meg, Liam (Dina), and Brendan (Shelley); as well as many friends and relatives.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Lougheed, Foothills and Rockyview Hospitals as well as Bow View Manor for Ann’s care.
A funeral mass to celebrate Ann’s life will take place at St. Luke’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, June 14th at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
