It is with sadness that the family of Andrew Russell announce his death at home on Sunday, September 25, 2022 at the age of 35. Andrew was born in Berwick, NS, on June 30, 1987.
Andrew leaves behind his parents, Carl Russell of Hanwell, NB, and Diane Ridley of Fredericton, NB; brothers, David Russell (Amy) of Hanwell and Jesse Russell (Joana Patrasc) of Toronto; nephew, Donovan Russell; as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Andrew was known affectionately by his friends as Rumple. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and recently had been honing his gardening skills. He loved to watch documentaries about history and a good Mafia movie.
Andrew attended NBCC and has worked hard over the last 10 years to become a Red Seal Electrician. His work took him around Alberta and Red Lake, Ontario where he was also a member of the Mine Rescue Team and he was excited to be starting a new job in Northern Quebec. He was enjoying being home again with his family and friends and was looking forward to settling down and buying a cottage somewhere nearby where he could continue to fish and enjoy life in New Brunswick.
Andrew loved to spend time with his family, especially back at the Camp in Nova Scotia, and often entertained his friends and family with his funny stories, his salty humour and his big laugh.
He will be fondly remembered by all who know him as a colorful character who could brighten up a room with his smile, his funny antics and his warm heart.
Visitation will be held at McAdam’s Funeral Home on Thursday, September 29, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. A memorial service will be held from the J.A. McAdam Memorial Chapel on Friday, September 30, 2022 at 1:00 pm. A reception will follow at Capital Winter Curling Club from 3:00 – 5:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations in Andrew’s memory can be made to Fredericton Community Kitchens Inc. or the Fredericton SPCA.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Andrew
