Obituary of Andrea Van Raes
Van Raes, Andrea of Dundas, formerly of Aylmer, passed away peacefully at her residence, Wentworth Lodge on Monday, November 14, 2022 in her 99th year. Beloved wife of the late Albert Van Raes(1997). Dear mother of the late Denise Jennerich(2020)(Desmond Devoy) and Annie Smithson(Mark) of Dundas. Loving grandmother of Stephen(Natalie), Heather(Caleigh), and Brian(Grace) and great-grandmother of Santana, Walter, and Ethan. Sister of Henri(Geannine) and Rachel Callens and sister-in-law of Georgette LePouttre. Predeceased by her siblings Oscar, Raymond, and Raymonde DeBarbieuz all of Belgium. She will be missed by a number of nieces and nephews. Born in Waterloo, France on January 14, 1924, daughter of the late Andrew and Zoe(Soate) LePouttre. Andrea moved to Canada in 1948. She grew tobacco in Calton for many years. Andrea was an accomplished seamstress. She was a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church and the Catholic Women’s League. Andrea loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the H. A. Kebbel Funeral Home, Aylmer on Sunday from 2:00-4:00pm. The funeral mass will be held at the Our Lady of Sorrows R.C. Church on Monday, November 21, 2022 at 10:00 am. Interment, Queen of Peace Cemetery.
