With profound sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Mr André Desjardins at the age of 85 years. Mr Desjardins passed away at Maison Bruyère in Gatineau, PQ on Friday April 15, 2022.
Mr Desjardins was born on January 18, 1937 at Dupuy, PQ to the late Wilfrid Desjardins and to the late Antoinette Duhamel. Mr Desjardins lived in Haileybury most of his life and was a faithful member of Paroisse Ste-Croix and a 4th degree member of the Knight of Columbus. He worked as the laundry manager at Temiskaming Hospital for over 30 years.
He is predeceased by his parents, by his wife Jeannine Desjardins (née Lacroix) and his siblings. Mr Desjardins is survived by his children Guy (Aline) Desjardins, Chantal Desjardins, Luc (Claire Laferrière) Desjardins and Marylène (Mathieu) Pilon. He is the cherished grandfather of Jason, Natalie, Mathieu, Francis, Denis, Mélissa, Mia and great-grandfather to Meredith, Harvey, Gordon, Olivier and Noémie. Mr Desjardins is also survived by his brothers Jean Guy (Anita) Desjardins, Raymond (Huguette) Desjardins; his sisters Clémence Desjardins and Thérèse (Gaetan) Quenneville as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family would like to thank the staff at Résidence Maison Bruyère for the excellent care provided.
Cremation has taken place at Lakeview crematorium – Haileybury. The family will receive family and friends at the Buffam Leveille Funeral Home on Saturday June 04, 2022 from 12:00pm until 1:30pm. The memorial mass will follow at Eglise Ste-Croix at 2:00pm. Interment will take place in the Haileybury Catholic cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Society will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Condolences and memories may be left at www.buffamleveille.com.
