Obituary of Amy Pearl Guy
Passed away at St. Clare’s Mercy Hospital, St. John’s on March 3, 2022, Amy (Blake) Guy. She was born on January 7, 1945 to Garfield and Mary Blake in a cabin at Jumpers Brook. Amy met her husband, Edward 59 years ago and they were married for 58 years. She worked as a house keeper for Dr. Bridger in Grand Falls and also worked in the restaurant at Stuckies Gas bar for about a year. Afterwards, she decided to be a stay at home mom with her three beautiful children. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. They were her world. She enjoyed fishing with her family as well as reading the bible and having devotions everyday with her husband. She always had time for anyone if they needed to talk. Anyone who knew her, knew that she was an exceptional woman.
Amy is predeceased by her parents, Garfield and Mary Blake; brother, Mervin, and sister, Mabel. She leaves to mourn her husband Edward, her daughter, Barbara (Ivan), sons, Edward Jr. (Audrey) and Mark (Dana); her grandchildren, Ivan Jr. (Lori), Clifford (Carl), Stacy (Chris), Sheena (Adam), Aaron (Michelle),Samantha (Steve), Stephanie (Cody), Markus (Abbie), and Alex, great-grandchildren, Acen, Brianna, Claire, Clarke, Leonidas, Colsen and Elena. She also leaves behind three sisters and nine brothers, brother-in-law, Albert (Olive) Guy and sister-in-law, Audrey Guy.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Monday from Hoskins Funeral Home in Botwood.
