It is with broken hearts we announce the
unexpected passing of Amanda Crystal Dawn
McNeil, age 41, of Douglas, NB, formerly of Springhill,
NS. Amanda passed away at the Dr. Georges L. Dumont Hospital
after a short battle with Cancer.
Born in Springhill, NS, she was a
daughter of Ronald (Shirley) Martin of Salisbury and Lorna (Rupert)
Schurman of Rodney.
Amanda was an amazing teacher at the
Harold Peterson Middle School in Oromocto, NB, encouraging her pupils
to enjoy learning through engagement and interaction. A very
kind hearted person, she went above and beyond by making sure her
students, whom were all remembered by name, were comfortable and had
what they needed. She loved dressing up, whether a special
occasion, or just for fun. Her love of animals was so
strong, she eventually made the decision to become a
vegetarian. She was generous to a fault; loved her friends
and family, and loved to socialize.
In addition to her parents she will be
dearly missed by her husband Lucas of Douglas, NB; step daughters Ally
and Madison McNeil; sisters Beverly (Jay) Deuitch, Forest Grove,
Oregon; Melanie (Zak Ripley) Martin, Springhill; step-siblings Angela,
Sheldon, and Justin, as well as special nieces and nephews Ellie,
Penelope, and Oliver, as well as many other nieces and nephews that
she truly adored.
She recently lost her special
grandmother Elizabeth Martin as well as her dogs Izzy and
Thor.
Arrangements have been entrusted into
the care of A H Brown Funeral Home, 5
McFarlane St., Springhill, NS (902-597-2361) where an Afternoon of
Remembrance will be held on Monday, November 7, 2022 from 2 to 4 pm
with special words shared at 2:30 pm. Burial will take place
in the Rodney Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Amanda may be
made to your local animal shelter.
