Alvine Bramanis (nee Treilibs) passed away on January 25, 2022 at Hilltop Manor in her 99th year. Predeceased by her husband Bruno Bramanis (2010) and daughter Inga Brazus
(1996). Lovingly remembered by daughters Aija Zichmanis and husband Klavs, Valda England and her husband Brad, grandchildren Gints Zichmanis, Ieva Zichmanis (Don), Markuss Zichmanis (Brittny), Vija Brazus, Laura Brazus (Jeremy), Andris Brazus, Ashley England, Ben England and greatgreat grandchildren Liam, Ethan, Maija, Jonathan, Roux, Ilona, Evelina. Alvine was born in the village of Ile, Latvia. The Second World War dramatically changed the lives of newlyweds Alvine and Bruno. Fleeing from a second Soviet occupation of Latvia, they headed west. Post war they spent several years in UN refugee camps in Germany and later lived in England before emigrating to Canada in 1955. Alvine loved to cook and bake for family and friends. She spent many hours in her garden loving and sharing her flowers. She loved taking her 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren on many adventures. Special thanks to Dr. Germano and all of the staff at Hilltop Manor for their care and kindness. A private family service will take place Friday, January 28 at Corbett Funeral Home in Cambridge. Internment at Parklawn cemetery.
