January 31, 1934 ~ December 29, 2021
Alma passed away peacefully in her home. She was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, one of nine siblings. Alma grew up on her parent’s farm in Greenwald and received her secondary education at Brokenhead School. She then attended Success Commercial College in Winnipeg and became an Executive Secretary at the Department of Transport, Government of Canada where she worked for over forty years, until her retirement.
After moving to Winnipeg, Alma took music lessons with the Royal Conservatory, becoming an accomplished pianist, excelling in classical compositions. She then pursued organ lessons, devoting her talents as an organist for over twenty years at the Greenwald Lutheran Church where she was an active member. She gave lessons to her late younger brother Ron, who also became an accomplished pipe organ player. She was honored to play for many wedding ceremonies, including those of her nieces and nephews.
Alma enjoyed attending concerts, keeping up with current events, and travelling. She went on trips accompanied by her siblings to Alaska, Texas, Germany and in Canada. She was a gentle, compassionate and generous soul, always putting the needs of her family members and friends before her own.
Enjoying good health throughout her almost 88 years, Alma continued to visit her farm home in Greenwald with her late brother Ron on weekends, and during summers after retirement, where they kept in close touch with their siblings and families nearby. In earlier years, she hosted many Christmas dinners for family at the homestead.
Alma was predeceased by her parents Frederick and Maria (Klann) Kintop, her siblings, Hulda Patzer, Natalie Schnellert, William, Daniel, Emmanuel and Ronald Kintop. She will be lovingly missed by her sister Linda Beck and brother Walter (Betty) Kintop, sister-in-law Elsie Kintop, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews who were near and dear to her.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to niece Christel Fiebelkorn and special great nephew Johnny Fiebelkorn for the kind and compassionate care they gave Alma over the past several years, enabling her to remain in her own home.
