SPICER, Allen Henry James
Passed away suddenly at home on July 16, 2022 in his 76th year. Allen was born in Tweed in 1946 and was a proud resident for most of his life. Allen played active roles with the Boy Scouts of Canada, the Royal Canadian Legion and is a lifetime member of the Kinsmen of Canada. Allen was also a proud member of the Royal Canadian Air Force and served from 1964 to 1969 as part of the AFPS Unit at CFB Borden.
Allen is predeceased by his father Henry Spicer in 1977, his mother Georgina Spicer (nee Lalonde) in 2004 and his sister Elrena Matthews (late Doug) in 2001. He is survived by his sister Marie Parks (late Wayne) of Kitchener, ON, Glen Spicer of Regina, SK and Wayne Spicer (Patsy) of Tweed.
Uncle Al was adored and will be greatly missed by his many nephews and nieces and especially loved by his great nieces and nephews. Uncle Al could be counted on for many treats, pop, chips, scooter rides and phone calls about the weather. Al was always “in the know” of local stories and news and was often seen driving around chatting with everyone he came in contact with. Al will also be missed by his canine companion ‘Sarah’.
A private burial to occur on Friday, July 22, 2022 with a Celebration of Life for the public to be held in September, details to follow. Cremation has occurred. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 428, Tweed ON.
