Obituary
Lynn, Alex (1933-2022)
Alex passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at the North Bay Regional Health Centre on Sunday June 12, 2022 at the age of 89 years. He was the faithful, dedicated, loving and beloved husband of 64 years to Ann Lynn. Loving, supportive and encouraging father of Ann Marie Richmond, Jackie Garlick (Dave), Michael Lynn (Darlene), Kathleen Brownlee (Kilvie Horner). He will be held tightly in the hearts of his nine grandchildren, Mandy Clark (Dave), Shannon Peters (Nic), Jenny Richmond (predeceased), Zack Lynn, Chelsea Lynn (Nick), Chris Garlick (Jess), Scotty Richmond, Samantha Brownlee (Trice) and Katelyn Brownlee (Devon) and four great-grandchildren Cassidy Clark (Kyle), Alex Clark, Hayden Peters and Carter Peters. Also survived by his sister May Mason and Jean (Andy Lithgow), Helen Lynn (Wife of Matt predeceased) Louise Mcainsh (Ian), life long friends turned family Minnie McDougall (Bill predeceased) and many other nieces, nephews, friends and family in Canada and “Across the pond” (Scotland). Alex was predeceased by his sister Iris and his wee brother Matt.
Alex was born in Scotland and came to Canada to create a new life for himself and his soon to be wife Ann in 1957. He was a true patriarch for the Lynn family, he was a hard working, dedicated and treasured Husband, Father and Papa. His love for family always welcomed more, which is why so many people will feel the loss of such a gentle, loving and caring soul. The only thing that came a close second to his love for family was his love for sports, all sports, he could tell you any stats about any athlete (without googling it), but being an avid soccer player himself (known as “crazy legs Lynn” in his day) his one true passion was soccer. He was a true Celtic fan through and through and will forever be one of the “BHOYS”.
The family of Alex would like to thank Dr. Laura Kistemaker and Pharmacist Runjan Rupal for many years of watching over his health and going above and beyond the standard of care. The amazing paramedics for their knowledge and gentle guidance, Dr. Jessica Maaskant for her exceptional and passionate care, nurse Brianna Benoit, charge nurse Ivan Herard for their gentle care and compassion for the entire family and Chaplain Jeff Archambeault for providing a beautiful sacrament of Anointing of the Sick with final prayers and blessings.
No words can describe how much Alex will be missed by his adoring family, his stories of the days gone by will be carried on by so many and we know he will forever be watching over us. Have a wee dram of for us… until we meet again.
As per his wishes there will be no visitation or service. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations in memory of Alex to the Nipissing Serenity Hospice would be gratefully acknowledge by his family.
