Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of our devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, Alec Gibbons, aged 76 years, of St. Vincent’s, St. Mary’s Bay, who passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre, St. John’s, on Monday, November 14, 2022, following a courageous battle with Cancer – Heaven called for their Angel and brought him home.
Predeceased by his parents Patrick & Theresa; brothers: Will, Frank and Valentine and sisters Kathleen and Beatrice.
He will be lovingly remembered and dearly missed by his wife of 45 years, Mary; children: Shawn (Cheryl), Jeff (Sheona) and Danielle (John); grandchildren: Megan, Adison, Sydney, Brooklyn and Trisha; great-grandchild: Mason and surviving siblings: Christine, Mary (Jerome), Lillian, Madonna, Imelda (Austin), Bertha, Patrick (Regina). Also to be remembered, with fond memories, by a tremendously large group of family and friends.
Cremation has taken place. Visitation will take place at Sacred Heart Church, St. Vincent’s, on Tuesday, November 22, 2022, from 2 – 4pm; 7 – 9pm, to be followed by a funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 23, 2022, at 11am. Burial will be held at a later time. The family requests that masks be worn during visitation and Mass.
