It is with great sadness we announce the death of Alan Eugene Simmonds. He passed away peacefully on December 5th, with his loving family by his side at the Windsor Hospice Residence at the age of 80.
Alan was born in Chatham, NB in 1942, the youngest of 5 boys. Alan is predeceased by his parents, Milton and Edna Simmonds, brothers Jeff and Cliff. He is survived by brothers Bob and Bill Simmonds.
Alan was a doting and loving husband of MaryBelle Simmonds for 55 yrs. He leaves behind his 3 children, Cherie Russell, Douglas Simmonds and Gerri Hallatt (nee Simmonds).
Alan will be greatly missed by his grandchildren and great grandchildren, Douglas Kenny, Randie Russell, Jessica Simmonds, Koby Simmonds, Keegan Simmonds, Jackson Hallatt, Clowey Tymzack, Joshua Murdock, Grayson Faron and Callen James Seguin.
Alan was a proud retiree of Ford Motor Company after 20+ years of employment. He was well respected and universally liked by his colleagues and was often referred to as “uncle Al” by many. Alan was a favorite uncle to many neices and nephews.
Alan will be remembered for his love of hockey and baseball, crossword puzzles, camping with his family and his best buddy Dingo, the family cat.
The family requests that donations be made to The Hospice of Windsor.
Please join the family to celebrate his life on December 11, 2022 form 2 – 5 pm at FAMILIES FIRST, 1065 Lauzon Rd., East Windsor, 519-969-5841. There will be a dinner reception to follow at 530pm at Average Joe’s.
