Obituary
With heavy hearts we announce that Aidan Blake Robertson ended his life on August 18, 2022 at the young age of 19 in Kananaskis, AB. He will be forever loved and missed by his parents Mark and Linda Robertson, his brother Kyle, and dog Patch. He will also be missed by his small but mighty family in Edmonton including aunts, uncle, cousins, and his grandparents as well as family in Ontario. He was predeceased by his grandparents Don and Shirley Garrison, and uncles Brad Reid and Bob Garrison.
Aidan was wise beyond his years and had a sensitive old soul. He was a charismatic bright light that made a lasting impression on anyone he met. He would have been a great teacher, therapist, performer, marine scientist, advocate, or anything else he chose to become.
Aidan’s challenges were invisible to many. He would want us to be kind to others as he always said, “You never know what people are dealing with on the inside.” He knew how to lift others up and make them laugh with his great sense of humour even though he struggled with his mental health almost every day. He made us laugh often as he always liked to point out the irony in everything.
We want to thank all the teachers, aides, principals, therapists (including the 4-legged friend therapists at PALS), counsellors, doctors, hospital staff, family and friends that cared for Aidan and walked with our family through the years. We appreciate all of you and believe he is free of his pain and finally at peace.
Aidan said, “He is not gone, he is just adding stars to the night sky.” Shine bright Aidan, we love you forever!
There will be a private family celebration of his short life.
