Weko’pekwitk August 20, 2022. It is with great sadness to
announce the sudden passing of Adria at her home in Millbrook, Nova
Scotia on August 20, 2022. May you soar high like the eagle that flew
around your home, the love you felt for your children and our family
will remain in our hearts forever.
Adria will be truly missed. She always could find adventure
in everything she did. Those that met her were always left with a
laugh or a deadly story. Although she hated doing dishes, she was the
first person community members would call to come clean and organize
their homes. She loved a good family gathering, especially holidays,
as long as there was food involved and could grab an extra
plate.
Adria was born in Truro to Shirley Denny, Millbrook and
father, Garry Gloade (deceased) of Millbrook. She is survived by her
daughters, Shayla Gloade and Kail Beckman, both of Millbrook;
siblings, Tamara Gloade (Matt), Garrett Gloade (Cheyenne), Jordan
Denny-Augustine, all of Millbrook; Garry Dennis (Janna) and Daniel
Dennis-Gloade, both of Eskasoni; niece, Kiara Denny, Millbrook;
nephew, Darien Denny, Millbrook; great niece, Tayla Denny, Millbrook;
biological father, Dale Sylliboy (Doreen), Millbrook; brother, Kris
Sylliboy (Kristin-Ann), Millbrook; brother, Joe Sylliboy, Calgary;
sister, Trina Thiesen, Ontario. She will be missed by her aunts,
Marlene Denny (Jack) Millbrook; Beverley Denny Coaticook, Quebec;
Bernadette Gloade (Findley), Millbrook; Gail Stevens (Darren) and
uncle, Joe Denny (Nelly), all of Eskasoni; special friend and sister,
Kendelle Blois, Truro. She is also survived by her Godmother, Angela
Bernard; Godfather, Gerald Gloade (Natalie), Millbrook. Adria is also
survived by her godchildren, Tristan Gloade Standingready and Kayne
Dorey, both of Millbrook.
Adria was predeceased by her father, Garry Gloade, Millbrook;
niece, Jemma Aerie Marshall, Millbrook; aunt, Margaret Gloade,
Millbrook; grandfather, John S. Denny, Eskasoni; grandmother, Rita
Prosper, Eskasoni; grandmother, Bridget Gloade, Millbrook; step
grandmother, Flora Johnson, Eskasoni; uncle, Robert C. Denny,
Eskasoni; uncle, Lester Denny, Eskasoni; uncle, David Marshall,
Millbrook; Clinton Gloade, Millbrook; Danny Gloade, Millbrook; aunt,
Muriel Gloade, Millbrook; aunt, Eleanor Denny, Eskasoni; aunt, Nancy
Marshall, Chapel Island; aunt, Greta Marshall, Chapel Island; sister,
Tanya Brooks, Millbrook; best friend, Jacqueline Brooks, Millbrook;

Adria will be resting at her home at 91 Tower Road, Millbrook
First Nation from 2-4 p.m., (Family only, please) Tuesday, August 30,
2022. Public visitation will follow at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 30,
2022 until the time of her service which will be held 11 a.m.,
Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church,
Church Road, Millbrook, Father Jim O’Connor officiating. Cremation
will take place after the service and interment will be held at a
later date at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Millbrook First
Nation.
