Adeline Catherine Long
– 80, of New Minas, passed away peacefully, at home, on
Monday, October 31, 2022 with her loving family by her side. Born in
Rogerton, Guysborough Co. As an infant Adeline and her family moved to
Trenton where she grew up. She was a daughter of the late William and
Annie “Marie” (MacDonald) Long and the last
surviving member of her immediate family. Prior to retirement, Adeline
worked for MT&T for over 30 years as a telephone operator. She
was involved in The Telephone Pioneers and was a shop steward for the
AC&TWU for many years as well. She loved to dance and would on
occasion attend dances at the Trenton Legion with her cousin Rita.
After a few years of retirement, she moved to live with her daughter
and helped take care of her two grandchildren, Kyra and Jack, who were
her world. Adeline is survived by her daughter, Patrice (Derek)
Campbell, New Minas; and grandchildren, Kyra and Jackson Campbell. In
addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Richard
and William “Bill” Long, infant brothers, Donald and
Colin; and sister, Shirley Rose. Cremation has taken place. A private
family burial will take place in Christ the King Cemetery, Trenton at
a later date. Donations in memory may be made to the Annapolis Valley
VON or the Carey Me Fund (supporting Palliative Care in the home).
Arrangements have been entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home and
Cremation Services, Kentville.
