Obituary
RANKIN, Helen (nee Stolarsky) 1937 – 2022
She passed away peacefully on Feb 13th, after a short stay in Maple Ridge Hospital. She was born in August 1937 in Melville, Saskatchewan, but lived in Maple Ridge most of her life. She worked in the steno-pool at Haney Correctional Institute for 15 years, meeting her husband Jim when he worked there. Married 49.5 years; they had no children but doted on their Pembroke Welch Corgies. She’s pre-deceased by her parents and 3 older brothers. She loved her garden and was very involved with Saint Vincent de Paul and the Maple Ridge Model Railroad Club (a sizable group meeting at their home weekly for most of their married life). She will be missed by her husband and their many friends from their neighbourhood, church, and model railroad clubs. Funeral Mass will be at 11 AM on Fri. March 4, 2022, at St. Luke’s Catholic Parish (20285 Dewdney Trunk Rd. Maple Ridge)

  1. So sad. Helen was a warm, caring woman who always took time to talk to everyone and anyone about anything. She always knew everyone’s birthday in the Model Railway Club, baked a cake and gave you a card signed by everyone attending. She will be sorely missed. My deepest condolences to Jim and all the friends who knew her. .
