Harvey Wutzke
1932 – 2022
Harvey Wutzke, beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with Joan, his loving wife of 63 years, by his side. Along with Joan, Harvey leaves to cherish his memory: son, Murray (Bernadette) and his children, Caitlyn (Jesse), Amanda and Chase; daughter, Sandie and her children, Kyle (Kayla), Josh (Anna), Jon (Kassia) and Clark (Liz). He was very fond of his great-grand-children and looked forward to frequent visits with Misha, Daxton, Luke, Maddox, Reid, Makenna and Maisy. Harvey grew up on the family farm near Elkwater along with his two brothers, Ralph and Rueben (Violet) and families, who also survive him, along with sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, John and Carol MacLaren, and Dave and Rosella Morin and families. He will be remembered as a determined and hard-working man who enjoyed his early career as a truck driver before transitioning to Real Estate when a back surgery in the early 70’s necessitated a change of careers. Harvey treasured his time with family and friends. He loved to get together to share a meal, a game of crib or a cold beer and always enjoyed a drive to the mountains or to see the farmland and crops in the summer. We will fondly miss his presence in our daily lives and the sharing of stories and memories of his early days on the farm and as a truck driver. The family wish to thank the doctors and nurses on 5 East for their care and compassion during Harvey’s final days. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private celebration of Harvey’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, on Monday, February 7, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Murray Jaster officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. The chapel service will be live-streamed and anyone wishing to experience the service is encouraged to visit our website and select the View Broadcast Button on the homepage at service time.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Harvey Wutzke 1932 2022..
