Obituary of Michael James Beveridge
Michael James Beveridge of Digby/Ottawa, born August 2, 1941, to Rev’d James M. W. and Grace “Allie” (Watson) Beveridge of Elmsdale; passed away in Yarmouth Regional Hospital on January 28, 2022.
Michael spent younger years in an air force family, in many places, and developed a strong interest in music in his teenage years. He started employment in banking in the 1960s and gained his CGA in 1979 and commenced a career in hospital and health information systems management in Ontario before retiring to his native Nova Scotia in 2011, settling in Digby, enjoying church life and music (lately as a member of the Fundy Pops group).
A gentle and generous, nonjudgmental human being who will be greatly missed.
Michael is survived by beloved wife, Marjorie (Ryan); also, Susan Beveridge, Ottawa; sons Christopher (Liz) Beveridge, Brampton, ON and Matthew (Amanda) Beveridge, Ottawa, ON; three grandchildren; brother, John (Mary Carmichael) Beveridge, Halifax; sister, Cathie (Orin) Eisenhauer, Dartmouth; and family, nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews, as well as, stepchildren; David Barker and Laura Loewen and family in British Columbia.
Many thanks to the staff in Kentville and Yarmouth hospitals, and to Dr. Borsato of Digby and Dr. Davidson of Kentville for their alertness and care.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Digby Baptist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted to Serenity Funeral Home, Digby County Funeral Chapel, 367 Highway #303, Digby, NS B0V 1A0 (902-245-2444).
