Davis, James Arthur – age 95 of Knoxville passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022. He was born on June 3, 1926. Arthur was a veteran of the U.S. Navy during WWII. He later retired from K-25 in Oakridge. He was a member of Burlington Lodge 763 F&AM as well as a member of Alice Bell Baptist Church. He was a member of IBEW #760 for over 75 years. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy C. Davis; son, Brian J. Davis; brother, BH Davis; sister, Anna Lynn Proffitt and parents, James and Mary Davis. Survived by sons, Chris Alan (Priscilla) Davis, Greg Chesney (Tracy) Davis; sister, Betty Branson; grandchildren, Nicole Davis (John) Robertson, Alan (Jenny) Davis, Dustin (Haley) Davis, Tyler (Ashton) Davis, Katie, Josh, Jennifer and Dyer Davis; great grandchildren, Grant and Ella Robertson, Creed, Wade, Wryn, Hunter and Lacey Davis. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 2, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM with service to follow at 7:00 PM at Bridges Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Rester officiating. Family and friends will gather at Bridges Funeral Home on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at 10:15 and go in procession to Thorngrove Cemetery for an 11:00 AM graveside service with military honors by Volunteer State Honor Guard. Serving as pallbearers will be Alan, Dustin and Tyler Davis, Mark Proffitt, John and Grant Robertson with honorary pallbearer, Creed Davis.
