It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Victoria Peters, mother, baba, great- baba and aunt. Victoria Zazulak was born in Regina, SK on December 24th, 1924. She was the 7th living child born to Ukrainian immigrants Theodore and Jeannie, trying to carve a life out of the raw lands of Saskatchewan. Victoria had fond memories of her 3 brothers: Bill, Johnny and Alec and 4 sisters: Mary, Nellie, Pauline and Tillie. Family and church were very strongly embraced. Victoria was fortunate to marry her soulmate Eugene in 1946 and they soon began a family. She was blessed with 3 children: Gary (Shelley), Richard (Sherry) and Maria (Bruce). Victoria’s door was always open for a visit, the coffee always on. She was an enthusiastic Roughrider fan, and her cheers could be heard halfway down the block on game day. Victoria adored her grandchildren: Kate (Paul), Ryan (Melonie), Ash (Alexandra), Tyson (Lanae), Lisa (Alvin) and Brandon; and great-grandchildren: Addison, Isla, Preston, Ava, Ethan, Jacob and Maxwell. She remained in the home that she built with Eugene for over 60 years. With failing health as she neared 95, her family thought it would be best for her safety that she moved to the Mulberry Estates. She remained sharp at her beloved gin game. The Lord called her to his door on Wednesday, November 23rd, 2022, just one month short of her 98th birthday. A huge hole has been left in our hearts by her passing. As the saying goes, you don’t fully appreciate how wonderful someone is until they are gone. Until we meet again. A Private Family Ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Victoria’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, Unit 26 – 1738 Quebec Ave, Saskatoon, SK S7K 1V9. Arrangements are entrusted to Moose Jaw Funeral Home, 268 Mulberry Lane. Gary McDowell, Funeral Director 306-693-4550
