Donna Ellen Maas Day Monday July 25th 2022

MAAS, Donna Ellen –
Peacefully at Prince Edward County Memorial Hospital, Picton on Monday, July 25, 2022, Donna Ellen Maas (nee Day) of Picton died at 91 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Sydney & Vera Day (nee McCann) and was the adored wife of Willem Maas and had just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary. Donna was the much-loved mother of Justin of Seattle, Washington, Simon of Toronto, and Adrian (Yaël) of Montreal. She was the proud grandmother of Jack, Sydney, Luc, Chloë, Vivian and Sabine.
Graduate of Queen’s University (’59) Donna maintained a lifelong passion for literature and art. She spent her early years at the Art Gallery of Ontario before settling into a supportive role that saw the couple build a life that spanned Montreal, Toronto, Larchmont, New York, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, and Vashon Island, Washington before retiring to Picton in 2000.
Ever a dynamic force, she made her presence known in this and any community she joined and fought fiercely for causes in which she believed.
A friend to many, she will be sorely missed. Donna is resting at the Rushnell Funeral Home – Picton Chapel, 33 Main Street (613476-2450). A Memorial Service will be held at a future date. Inurnment at Glenwood Cemetery. Online condolences at: www.rushnellfamilyservices.com
