Gordon Chin, age 63, was surrounded by his wife and children when he passed away on July 4, 2022. Gord was born in the small Saskatchewan town of Eatonia to Jack and Susan Chin and lived there until moving to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to attend medical school. He graduated June 1984 and two weeks later married Wendy Lau. They moved to Regina, Saskatchewan where they raised their three children. Gord practiced family medicine for 38 years, in which time he faithfully cared for patients with gentleness and compassion. The heart he had for his patients was his biggest hesitation as he considered retirement amidst his own health issues.
His complex health took him on ups and downs, particularly over the past 5 years. However, by God’s grace he spent his last years continuing what he loved to do – being with family, worshipping and serving with his local church, golfing, and converting people to ‘low-carb’.
He will be deeply missed by his wife Wendy; children Chelsea, Matthew, and Breanna; brother Joe (Lily) and children Garrett and Sheldon; sister Lily (Frank) and children Jeremy, Amanda, and Justin; and brother Ivan (Judy) and children Ethan, Cianna, and Amiya. They are celebrating his perfect health now that he is with the Lord.
Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in Hillsdale Baptist Church, 101 Munroe Place, Regina, Saskatchewan S4S 3E7. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hillsdale Baptist Church Legacy Fund in honour of Gord.
