Obituary of Yvan Laporte
On October 16, 2020 , Yvan Laporte passed away suddenly at home in Haileybury in his 57th year.
He left behind his mother Therese Laporte of St. Georges, Quebec and his two brothers Andre ( Linh Mai ) and Marc of Calgary. He also left behind his only nephew Allan. Predeceased by his father Roger Laporte of Port Colborne ( 1999 ).
He was born in Port Colborne on February 26, 1965 and attended Ecole St. Joseph in Port Colborne and later attended Ecole Confederation where he graduated. After High School, he went to Niagara College and graduated as a machinist. He worked a few years at Hayes Dana in St Catharines. Later on, he moved to Haileybury and worked as a welder. Up north, he was able to enjoy the great outdoor as fishing and hunting were his favorite pastimes.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 179 Clarence Street, Port Colborne. Due to current health restrictions, there will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
If so desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
