Winifred Winnie Theresa Wells December 9th 2021

WINIFRED “WINNIE” THERESA WELLS
“We’ll Meet Again…Some Sunny Day!”
With love and gratitude for her gift of 99 adventurous years, the family of Winifred “Winnie” Wells (formerly Cummings, nee Connolly) sadly bids farewell to the earthly presence of our beloved and loving sister, mother, mother-in-law, granny, great-grandma, auntie and loyal friend. In the presence of family and tightly embraced by love, Winnie drew her last breath at 12:25 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021. Winnie’s final days and hours were spent with family by her side and under the compassionate care of medical professionals in the Regina Pasqua Hospital, Unit 4B and Palliative Care.
Winnie left for all to cherish her legacy of love, friendship, kindness, generosity, forgiveness, wit, humour, style, memories of an impeccable memory for detail and her “sparkling blue eyes”.
Born in Manchester, England, Winnie’s Canadian life began as a war bride immigrating to Canada in 1946. She arrived with her infant eldest son in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Saturday, September 21, 1946 aboard the Queen Mary.
After raising her four sons in Regina, SK, Winnie moved to Saskatoon, SK to begin a new journey with her love John Wells.
Following 50 plus years of Saskatoon living, working, loving and laughing, in July 2020 Winnie relocated to the Regina Royal Oaks Care Home. Comforting care by management and staff was shared with kindness, warmth, laughter, compassion and empathy…and for that “ultimate” in elder care…. Winnie was and we her family are profoundly grateful.
Winnie was, and her family is, also thankful for Winnie’s lifetime of guidance and physical and spiritual care and support received in Saskatoon and Regina from medical professionals, pharmacists, Home Care Services, Saskatoon Housing Authority, Regina Senior Services and Winnie’s Grace-Westminster United Church family. Because of you Winnie’s life was greatly enhanced affording her many more years of comfort and enjoyment than she might otherwise have known. Brent Metz, thank you for your respectful care of Winnie and her family and for leading Winnie’s graveside farewell.
To each of you who throughout Winnie’s life, in ways both great and small, uplifted Winnie by sharing your love, support, laughter, friendship and many cups of Red Rose tea…know how much you meant to her and how eternally grateful Winnie was having you in her life.
Winnie was laid to rest with her beloved John in the Veterans’ Field of Saskatoon’s Woodlawn Cemetery on Saturday, December 11, 2021 with family and Funeral Director Brent Metz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services, Regina, SK gently guiding Winnie’s spirit toward her final journey home.
Flowers are gratefully declined. To honour Winnie’s life, friends so choosing may consider a donation to the Regina Legion Poppy Fund, 1820 Cornwall St., Regina, SK S4P 2K2 or to a charity of choice.
“Dear Mom and Granny…Let this, your final sleep, be one of peace. Your love for your family and our love for you are forever!”

Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Winifred Winnie Theresa Wells December 9th 2021..
