William Roy Dick 1948 2021

Obituary of William Roy Dick
William Roy Dick passed away on Tuesday, November 16th, 2021, with his beloved wife, Emily by his side in Steinbach, Manitoba.
Roy, as he was known was born on February 6,1948 in Carman, MB., and was raised in Elm Creek by his parents, Wilhelm & Eva (Fleming) Dick. He grew up with 3 brothers, Robert, Richard & Jeff. Roy left home as a teenager and enlisted with the Princess Patricia’s Canadian Light Infantry. He worked as a loader operator in Manitoba, British Columbia and in Alberta where he started his own construction business.
Roy married Emily Allan in 1972 and they had two children, Shelley (Marcel) & Steven (Carly). They raised their family in Garson, MB., and later lived in Medicine Hat and Portage La Prairie. Roy was a proud grandfather to Willem & Damian.
Roy was the kind of person that led with kindness and humour. He had a tremendous heart and was beloved by all who were lucky to know him. Roy & Emily shared a special kind of love that was felt by all. Roy loved to go fishing and felt most at peace by the water. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial will be held for Roy in the summer of 2022.
Dearest Dad, the world is shifting without your light, but it also burns brighter in all of us forever.
