Obituary
Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the homestead where he was born. Beloved partner to Edith Ford and father to Brian Rintoul (Cora), Margaret Lewis (James), Glenn Rintoul (Kerri), and Jane Veninga (Albert). Predeceased by his loving wife Ethel (nee Potter). Loving grandpa to Nick, Jessica, and Monica Rintoul, Willie (Katie), Liz, and Charlie Lewis, Jenna Rintoul (Cody), Chelsea Rath(Travis), Bobby Raycroft (Lindsay), Ryan and Joey Veninga (Caitlin). Special great grandpa to Nevyn, Rosalynn and Wesley. Dear brother of Elsie (the late Bill), Laurie (Eleanor), and Ruth (Guy). Predeceased by brothers, Kelvin (Helen), Archie (Betty), Leslie (Lea) and Donald (Fran). Dear cousin of Jim (Marcia), Betty (Steve) and the late Mary. Special uncle to many nieces and nephews. Bill was born and raised on the Rintoul homestead on Quarry Rd (Concession 6). He was a life-long dairy farmer with a passion for heavy horses. He owned and operated the Maple Leaf Dairy, making delicious milkshakes and delivering milk throughout town. Bill was an avid curler for many years and was instrumental in the building of the new curling club in Carleton Place. In retirement, he enjoyed travelling, spending time at the family cottage, working on puzzles and touring CP on his scooter. Bill will always be remembered for being the number one fan at the family ball games. Bill’s family would like to thank the staff involved in his care from the Champlain LHIN and Bayshore Home Health. Special thanks to Nurse Sarah and Dr. Bastin-Millar. As per Bill’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. For those who wish, a donation to the Carleton Place Hospital NEW Emergency Department would be appreciated.
