On Feb 10, 2021, Bill Lawrence Conrod, loving husband and father of two, passed suddenly at home in Halifax at the age of 85.
In youth, Bill was an accomplished hockey player and played for the Halifax Canadians.
Born and raised in Halifax, Bill married Bonnie Harvey in 1964. They had a son, Bill and a daughter, Jennifer. They had many adventures as a family and many memories to cherish.
Bill was a natural salesperson with a career that spanned many industries. Most remember him at Brett Pontiac or Steele Ford. Prior to sales he was on the Halifax Fire Department for many years.
Bill had a relationship with God. Religion was always close to him with his rosary in his pocket and scapular around his neck. He stayed involved in his church community and read his bible daily.
Bill loved to read and loved the library. Heading to the library was social, his walk included a chat with passersby or a rest on a bench. With a twinkle in his eye, he would tell a story or joke and sometimes, you might even get a little dance. He had a gentle, kind heart that would bring peace to an otherwise chaotic world.
Bill was preceded in death by his father, Bill Leo Conrod and his mother, , Ella O’Neill ,and brothers John and Raymond.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, his children, Bill (wife, Gina) and Jennifer partner, Glendon), grandchildren, Lunden and Brooke, sisters, Joan and Mary and many nieces and nephews.
A service will follow sometime in the future.
