It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William Michael (Bud) Richardson of Petawawa, peacefully at home on Tuesday, July 13, 2021 at the age of 95. Bud was born Feb 28, 1926 in St. John, New Brunswick where he grew up in a family of 5 siblings – Derald, Donald, Robert & Jean. Bud is survived by his brother Robert (Abby).
Bud moved to Hamilton, Ontario where he & Florence (Flo) met while dancing and on August 6, 1949 they married & became life-long dance partners for almost 72 years.
Together, they were devoted parents to six children: Diane Richardson, Deborah Wheeler (Paul), Pamela Hubbard (Eric), William Richardson (Pam), Wendy Keniston (Jim) & Kelly Childerhose (Mark).
Cherished grandchildren: Kristina, Jennifer, Jason (Erin), Jody, Kayla, Calvin (Colleen), Melissa, Corey (Breanna), Ryan (Carly), Bradley (Ashley) & Jake.
Great grandchildren: Dominic, Logan, Ella-James, Penelope, Raymond, Sophia, Clara, James & Alexander.
Bud will also be fondly remembered by many other relatives, as well as friends & colleagues in the community he loved & served for many years.
A very special “Thank You” for all the loving & caring support of the Access Healthcare Services Team: Una, Janie, Jessica, Grace & many others who helped fulfill Bud’s dream of living out his days in his own beloved home.
He was also very involved in the community of Petawawa with various service projects, such as the Trojan Boxing club, OPP Community Safety, Ladies Keep Fit Program, (long beforehand gyms were available), Bingo, and various other Children’s programs. Truly a life well-lived.
Friends are invited to share their memories of Bud with his family during visitation at the MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke on Sunday 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday July 19th at 10:30 a.m. in Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Petawawa. Interment St. Columba’s Cemetery.
