Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that our family announces the peaceful passing of William “Bill” Schwab on December 1st, 2021, at age 73, in Edson, AB. Bill was born at home in Brighton, ON, to Charles and Vida on April 6, 1948, as the 7th of 8 children. His vibrant personality and quirky sense of humour always kept those who knew him on their toes while providing many laughs and happiness. Bill is survived by his older brother Gordon, his 2 children Heidi and Chuck, 4 grandchildren Will, Lauren, Sidney and Ty and 4 stepchildren Kelsey, Caityn, Lucas and Jordon. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and extended family. Bill will be greatly missed by everyone.
He always dreamed of being a pilot in the Air Force but was unable to qualify due his eyesight. He did however get his private pilot’s licence in the 1980’s and enjoyed many hours in the air with family and friends. Always a lover of nature and being outdoors we have many fond memories of fishing and camping trips. It is our hope that he is now able to fly around in the big blue sky and enjoy the freedom and nature he always craved and adored.
Our family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at Edson Continuing Care for their wonderful care and support of Bill over the past 13 years. We would like to especially thank Patty for all her help getting Bill to Camp He Ho Ha every year. It was always a highlight of his year to be out in nature for a week.
Our family will be holding a small private celebration of Bill’s life at a later date. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to Camp He Ho Ha (www.camphehoha.com) or the Brain Care Centre (www.braincarecentre.com)
