It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Wayne Francis Purdy, 74 of Eastern Passage. Wayne passed away peacefully on April 21, 2021 at the Dartmouth General Hospital.
Born June 26, 1946 he was the son of the late Evelyn and Stan Purdy.
Wayne was a longtime District 33 fisherman of Eastern Passage. Wayne will be fondly remembered for his love of family, a great friend, kindness to others and humor. Wayne absolutely loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter. He enjoyed spending time at the camp with anyone who would join him and especially the trips with his brothers.
He was also a longtime member of the Buffalo club.
Wayne was predeceased by his loving wife Mary Purdy (Ritchie), granddaughter Mya Purdy, brothers; Derrick, Stephen, Leonard and sister Lorraine Purdy.
Wayne is survived by his sons Dwayne (Nicole), Neil (Carol), (Amy Madore) and precious grandchildren Madelyn, Leah, Josh. He is also survived by brothers Ralph (Rita), Mike, a sister Patricia Purdy.
Due to Covid, there will be no visitation. Further details will be provided when available.
