Wayne Bernard
It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden
passing of Wayne Bernard 49, of Elsipogtog at his residence on Friday,
February 5, 2021. Born in Tyne Valley, PEI he was the son of Kenny
Bernard and the late Mary Louise Bernard.
Wayne will be sadly missed by his father, Kenny Bernard of
Lennox Island, PEI; one daughter, Rose Bernard of Souris, PEI; three
sons, Zachary Gallant of O’Leary, PEI, Damien Bernard, Tapit
Bernard both of Elsipogtog and two grandchildren, Zavier and
Kaliani.
He is also survived by two sisters, April Augustine (Robert)
of Elsipogtog, Carolanne Lewis (Parker) of Lennox Island, PEI; six
brothers, Dale Augustine, Kenny Bernard (Ruby) both of Charlottetown,
PEI, Terry Bernard, Joseph Augustine, Troy Bernard (Kerri) all of
Lennox Island, PEI, Jason Milliea of Elsipogtog; uncles, Timothy
Bernard (Tanya), Mark Bernard; aunt Debbie Bernard; many nieces,
nephews, cousins and Godchildren, Reece and Aiden.
He was predeceased by his mother, Mary Louise Bernard;
step-mother, Judy Bernard; common law wife, Angeline Peters and one
sister, Valerie.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday at St.
Anne’s Roman Catholic Church, Lennox Island First Nation,
due to Covid 19 restrictions, by invitation only. Interment will
follow in the Parish Cemetery.
